School on Theoretical Informatics, Graphs And Mathematical Applications 2024
18th — 20th September 2024, Kruh u Jilemnice
STIGMA is organized by the Department of Theoretical Computer Science FIT CTU. The school takes place in an informal atmosphere and its main content are lectures by students and doctoral students about scientific articles or their own research, lectures by young scientists about their research and space for solving open problems. In addition to the professional program, there will be plenty of time for purely non-professional activities, such as sports activities in the area.
Venue and Transport
- STIGMA will be held from September 18 to 20, 2024 in the village of Kruh u Jilemnice.
- Accommodation and food is paid from the CTU budget.

Lectures
As part of your participation in STIGMA, you are expected to give a nice talk on the following topics (of course, it is not necessary to stick strictly to them):
- theoretical computer science
- discrete mathematics
- graph theory and graph algorithms
- computational complexity
Doctoral students and students will give lectures related either to their own research or to a current scientific article fitting into the theme of the conference (we will publish the list of articles on this page). Young scientists will give lectures that can inspire students for future research and also offer suitable open problems.
We would like you to add a short handout with a list of basic definitions, theorems and other results to your lecture. We will distribute it to the audience during the lecture and at the same time we will place it in the school booklet. You can find a template for handouts and an example of use on the Theoretic Seminar website.
STIGMA's languages are Czech, Slovak and English.
The expected lengths of the lectures are as follows:
- 60—90 minutes for bachelor's and master's students
- 45—60 minutes for PhD students
- 0—30 minutes for other.
The preliminary schedule of lectures will be known on the Friday before departure. A projector, flipchart and chalkboard will be provided on site.
